I purchased a wide arch rally cross kit at the weekend, looking at what options as far as wheels and suspension.

A) Wide track set up and carry on using the wheels I have.
B) Standard track and use a low offset wheel.

What offset would I have to use to fill the arch?

Cheers
Chris

Given what we learnt from Dans build/use, the wide track kit is far better value than slapping on wide low offset alloys.

Dan has in the region of £2K in wheels and tyres to give Slicks/Inters and Wets as options.... Then you have to replace the rubber which is an ongoing cost.
For a better long term running cost, go with the Wide track kit... Then you can run anything from part worns all the way to full baaad ass slicks lol

Stu, it depends on what he already has for your option.

but i would say offset wise you would be getting down to 0ET quite quickly. if not further.

sticky outy wheels also try to grab when they hit a bump/kerb. wide track with stock offset will drive pretty much the same as narrow track,

think 'what would bernie & leepu do?'

I've got sticky slicks I currently use. The walden wide track kit is a shade under £1000. Atm, with buying a house that's not goon to happen. I also sadly don't have the machine shop garage that alot of diy kit people have. Hence, small offset wheels.

you will easily spend that grand on wheels and tyres IF you can get some made in a tangable time frame.

chimp. any number of general engineers will make you rack extension bushings, then you need to extend the bottom arms, i'm thinking buy 2 extra, cut & shut them, and then get the bottoms plated up, and then you have to sort out some astra shafts. the super duper suspension you will be running will have camber adjustment. its got to be cheaper than a grand

I have camber and caster adjustment through eccentric top mounts. As for wheels there's e30 wheels with close to et0.
I know wide track is the way forward, but again I'm going to be buying a house and the work discussed above is going to take several weekends to do etc I just wouldn't have the time, nor all the skills. I've read the counts build and it's not easy...
