Hi all. Im thinking of replacing the orginal seat runners for the rails because of the pedal box :mad:
Im after advice on how this is done what materials are best to use etc.

Depends how much work you're willing to put into it; i'm sure welding in box is fine, but going the extra mile like the rally teams is the CDS route with flat tops for the side mounts & then maybe spreading the load with some simple flat steel plates each side.

Its just to get the car done really I have got another shell that im gonna spend time on I just need a quick fix really

Cheers Iain. Looks like something that could work for the time being what size bar did you use a what mm thickness is the spreader plates.

Can't remember if it was 20mm or 25mm box section. Think I used 3mm thickness on the spreader plates. If you're after a quick fix might be easier just to drill through it instead of putting the threaded inserts in.

To be honest I probably will go straight through just to keep it simple.

Check my wip gareth, proper pukka weld in rails.
