well finished putting my c14se back in the car today and turned it over by hand a few times then turned it over by the key without the plugs in

put the plugs in now it wont even turn over?

when i turn the key i get nothing not even a click and the fuel pump dosnt come on

ive put a live to the starter and it dosnt turn over like that either

any ideas? all earths are fine

checked the voltage on the small wire that goes to the starter and its getting power when your turn the key the power drops is that right?

hmm when i turn the key to throw the starter the right indicator and main beam icon light up on my digi dash lol

check the earth to the chassis leg from the gearbox is good, and any other earths on the engine

school boy error lol

the chassis earth was nice n shiny but i looked on the inside of the earth strap and it wasnty very clean

once over with the grinder and it was fine

starts first turn of the key but with no manifold on sounds a tad rough haha

If in doubt - clean it out!
Sometimes you have to bin it to win it!!

And other corny phrases.

Hopefully others will learn from this too - as lots of non-start faults can be down to the engine/chassis earth. If you have a Merc or a Jeep, it's not uncommon to see the steering wheel smoke! (as the engine tries to earth through the hooter wiring, and the spirally expensive coily bit behind the steering wheel!)
