I have a problem with my fuel gauge, it keeps shottin over the full mark so cant tell how much petrol I have, checked the gauge and it fine so thinking it could be the fuel sender in the tank, so how can it get to it without droppin the tank????
picture's would help if anyone has found a easyer way to get to it
thanks:thumb::cry::cry::cry:

this prob goin to sound stupid but what you mean? got a 1.2 tank on it thats all I know
have a look under back seats sould be a black cover.
the 1.2 carb sender can be removed in situ. Jack car up and have a look underneath. It's either bolted in, or it just twists in and out.

if the sender is in the bottom of the back of the tank. then it could be the little earth wire atached mine did it on my van found it was snaped replaced the unit and it was fine

mines started doing this, im going to check the wires first, then swap it over with my spare gauge and if not that its the sender, but start cheap and work up, but always clean the earth first

cheers mate will let you know on that:thumb:
had a quick look when I got home and looks like the wire's run in the side:confused:
so goin to try another fuel gauge and chase the wires and plug it in at the tank and see what happens
howd you mean run inside?
the wires for the sender should be under your rear seats and go through a grommet to the back of the tank then plug into your sender

find the sender its on the side of the tank, so goin to try another gauge to see if its a earth or the sender

right change the sender and still have the same problem, the fuel gauge works from time to time so what else could it be  :wall:
Have you tried another set of clocks?
Do you have a multi Meter?
If you do take a resistance reading from the fuel guage wire behind the clocks if you get a reading your clocks are faulty
If you don't get a reading you either have a brake in the wiring leading to the sender or the fenders faulty
The sender should work though as I removed it from my old carb tank when I fitted my gsi tank

don't think its the sender mate. Well goin 2 try a different gauge and see what happen's if its still playing up then I'll check the wire's cos sometime's it will work then shot off again
