Saw this on Stoo and other facebooks today, real shame as he was a guy who built a nationally recognised company, and by the sound of things went far too soon, rest in peace!

well, thats one less **** in the world....i have sympathy for his family, but he was stripped of all his proper business responsibilities a long time ago but was kept on as a figurehead... have you noticed its all stobart logistics etc.... these days.

sorry folks, but for an awfully long time, mr stobart managed to keep expanding, and borrowing money to do it, and actually didn't make very much money... he also was legendary for massively undercutting the work, then 3 months later the customer realised that they were paying more for the job.. the sodding police never pull their wagons in, cos they are apparently too good...

the general public think stobarts are special. they are not. he was very lucky. when people started buying canned beer, he was the man delivering the cans to the breweries, then he got involved in hauling the tins of beer. and did do quite well for a while.. but of late, they have been hiding behind their size....

what i'm constantly amazed at is that people on council estates all across the land have been giving their daughters ridiculous names just to get them on the front of a stobart wagon......i saw one called 'summer blue'

stobarts got involved with a railfreight hub at crick northants... tons of publicity later, malcolms are the ones running container freight from there....but round our way, stobart is so mixed up with tesco stuff, its hard to see where one finishes & the other starts...

bazil

There was a suggestion WHM had a part ownership of stobbart but nobody really knows

mowgli

the mormons were funding his massive expansion.. then forced mr. S off the board...i have a feeling that stobart is owned by many other groups... a lot of the green wagons are actually run by subbies.
