Hi,

Trying to remove a door from my 3 door nova using a centre punch, got one pin out but one of the pins is stuck to buggery all that happens is the punch get's wedged into the pin without moving it.

How do other people get them off?

Thanks,

John.

Are you removing the door to replace it with a nother one? Or are you removing the door to sell it as your breaking the car? If you're breaking the car you can always get an angle griner on the hinge bit and grind it off...thats what a scrappy did for me when I wanted a new door.

If your wanting to replace the door, perhaps try spraying a load of WD40 on the pin overnight. Probably some corrosion thats got the pin stuck in place?

as jim said really there is no special nack to doing it, your either very lucky and they pop out or you get grinding.

Good luck!

it a set of pins and a metal bar the pin has a removeable nut . you have to put it thought the pin of your door put the nut back on use the metal which has a cut out in it in between the pin and use a hammer carefully tap it out

the centre punch might have made the pin wider so it might be difficult to get out

also the top pin tap down but the bottom pin in your door tap up or you will get it stuck and wreck you door as i did as there is not enough room for the pin to come out

It is possible to do without the tool but, I can't tell you how easy the tool makes it, I spent an hour at the top of a pile of Novas getting a door off, not nice.
