Looks interesting, However there are alternatives for cheaper!

I have wanted to put a tdv6 in a 90 for ages just never could be bothered due to all the electrics....

At long freaking last!!!! Although only 100V running the injectors will see reduced performance of the Puma 2.4 Lump... They run on 120-130V ;)

How much is it?

Didn't see that.....

I'm sure its just under 3K....

EDIT: "less than £3,000 inc vat for ecu, softwear and harness........and base map"

Holy crap, thats more than the thieves at Bosch Motorsport!!!! Might aswell buy their basic CR derv ECU @ 2000Euros (ish)

i'm truly curious as to why you would want to stick such a complex engine into a crop sprayer...... as it is hydro drive, with doppler speed control, the engine simply needs to rev at a set figure & the pumps do the rest....the puma lump must cost way more than a suitable perkins/kubota or similar engine

This was a thought of mine, I guess it was just a trial as all the applications have used the same engine....

It would still be cheaper to get the OEM ECU and simly add a box to pretend to be the rest of the van (or use some software that might be somewhere to ignore the rest of the van ;) ) and go with a proper OEM calibration...

And to think I was told there was no money in aftermarket sales, given the OEM paid 50euros for an ecu (granted they purchased 250K of them a year, but still ONE £3K sale would cover a lot of that lol)

stu... you should perhaps be in that market yourself.. i mean, if you created a cheap petrol 4 cylinder mappable, theres enough people on here who would be up for covering your startup costs..

and these off road boys always pay crazy coin to make landy's go faster.... god knows why, cos they are shoite at low speeds, and simply frightening at anything above 50mph

Its scary to think that.....

One day il get round to doing the conversion. Just cba at the moment.

Can you help this user who wants to break the land speed record in a vauxhall nova???

I would be very interested in this.......I guess its along the lines of mega squirt?

Thats the product name sorted.

I am actually working on my updates to the MS unit and plan to have something running by the end of the year (if I get some spare time at work).

I would love to do a Derv controller, but feck its complicated to code... The transit ecu software was a 30Meg text file when all the code was put in one place

megasquirt seems to be marketed by people who want to scare the masses into thinking it is complicated & expensive.... i mean, a simple kit of bits in a box would be fine... but then there are drivers etc....

What sort of updates are you doing to ms?

Yeh well I see what you mean, but for those who are even slightly in the know its fairly easy to understand!

automotive speccing all major IC's, using some cool chips I've found for getting lots of inputs in without using tons of Micro inputs etc.

Simple things really that should be done on the current MS but its just left to be some heap of ancient tat.

you make it sound like there is a sinclair zx81 inside the box.......is there?

All very interesting. It seems MS was just a parts bin build if you understand what I mean?

According to a friend who specced the Transit ECU parts "Megasquirt is just bits of circuits from school text books, so pretty crap" lol

We agree that the principle of the system is good but the parts are far from ideal, and mostly obsolete making them furcking expensive and hard to get.

Mowgli, its about 10 times more powerful than a ZX81 lol

Interesting, I looked into it a while back when I had some boddies but Couldn't be bothered with the hassle in this build so just went carbs.

However I'm hoping to be getting my hands on a Ascona and hope to do a v6 or similar build on boddies.

Would even consider doing a powerful derv.

Given the time taken to fettle various circuits to work with your car (even with the abundance of info out there), I reckon the time cost alone would put you better off buying a DTA etc lol.

I'm planning to have ETB use built into mine :) something you dont see for less than £1K in the aftermarket world.

Yes however the cost wasn't the issue at that point. Was also going to be part of a college project. Would have given me a sh*t load to write about which is always good for grades!! haha
