Are all 1.6 8 valves the same?

As in, an astra coilpack type 8v, in basis is it the same as a C16SE??

Will be using bike carbs and 1400 SR distributor setup etc, so just want to know if when everything electronic is ripped off are they all the same?

Can a coilpack engine be run on SR distributor?

if its the MPi engine Matt it is a C16SE. A 1400 SR dizzy should fit on

What about Z16SE's from Astras and the like? They're pretty cheap and it's going to be stripped to bare minimum to put carbs on, so just wondering if the bare essentials are the same, such as cam drive for the distributor.

i had an astra c14se coilpack engine and a nova loom/ecu that was dizzy, only had to swap the cam as the coilpack cam had no hole for the dizzy pin drive.

i think the c14se is basically the same engine just a smaller capacity
