Premadonnas now I'm affraid in the English game, far too much money given out and has wrecked a game of football, sky tv totally killed football for me as I used to love watching footie on telly as a kid on tv.

Still watch England play but sick of seeing the bullishiit hype about the players and what they should and could do on the pitch.

:p lol :p lol :p lol

AdamK
29-03-11, 09:55 PM
agreed southie its not so much about the game anymore they know theyre still getting paid mad amounts of money wether they score in a game or dont touch the ball, the passion isnt there as much as it used to be with the players which does affect the game

Southie
29-03-11, 09:58 PM
You'll laugh but I'm a Leeds fan but tbh I've enjoyed watching them struggle like shiit in the last few years than when they played in Europe, you get more of a urge to see them actually play well and the players ain't on mega money (apart from the Leeds players that are still being payed when they leave the club) lol

i know what you mean, i much prefer to watch lower division football much more entertaining and you also get to see the players developing before they make it big time and move to united or chelsea lol

Southie
29-03-11, 10:05 PM
I enjoy watching the FA Cup more than the World Cup lol

AdamK
29-03-11, 10:09 PM
gotta disagree with that one southie love the world cup the hype the draw and being in a pub full of people supporting the same team there's a good atmosphere which is one of the most enjoyable parts of the game

Southie
29-03-11, 10:16 PM
Yeah but that's the pub that makes the football not the game, I'm a England fan as said and Ive enjoyed rather a lot of beer that makes England games more entertaining, it still doesn't explain the disappointment though and the silly wages.

AdamK
29-03-11, 10:21 PM
everythings better after a few pints lol and i know the players englands got theres no reason we shouldnt be atleast in the final and theres no excuse for the silly wages but i dont think anyone could honestly say they wouldnt be a footballer if they had the chance all the money the cars the women also comes with its downsides i know but as does most other things

Southie
29-03-11, 10:29 PM
Also football in pubs was killed off when I couldn't smoke lol

I ain't bothered about all the fame of football as I'm cr@p at it so won't loose sleep lol

The cricket team are much more entertaining at being let downs in major tournaments.

Joe hart is our best keeper, leave him in goal.

Terry & dawson CBs, rio is crap.
Begrudgingly Cole as LB.
Need a new right back, never replaced Neville. Johnsons a clown.

Midfield should be Wilshere, ash young on left, lennon on the right, maybe, stevie g join wilshere in centre?

Upfront bent and carroll.

Harry redknapp as manager with beckham assistant manager.

Lol, seriously though, take the Spanish.

Iker Casillas has been there #1 for years. They stuck with him from a young age whether he played well or not, now hes one of the best in the world.

We take rob green to the world cup as #1, he makes a howler, immediately dropped. His confidence was instantly ruined, so he is a waste of space at the world cup. If we'd stuck with him, different story, instead we turn to an aging dunce who isnt even good enough to play in the PL!

Joe hart is the way forward there.

The so called 'golden boys' JT, Rio, SG, Fat Frank, shrek etc. What have they ever acheived? Knocked out at a few QFs against Portugal, and humiliated by Ze Germans at 2010.

That fat idiotic prat (Shrek) is a liability. People say has a lot of passion for the game, but he doesnt at all. He wants to constantly be in the headlines, his so called 'passion' is anger vented on the pitch resulting in numerous bookings or worse still, reddies!

Michael Owen burst onto the Scene in 98. He was a star of the show for many years to come. Fatty, on the other hand, burst onto the scene in 06(?) played well at one major tournament, struggled for fitness for a while, got humiliated at Manchester by Ronaldo for a few years, now Hernandez is havinga go.

Name one thing hes done for England! His overhead kick v City (theone that came off of his shin) everyone raved about that, had they all forgotten about Bales perfectly executed head-height volley earlier in the season? Further out, harder to strike, better technique etc.

Everyone thinks the sun shines out of his ****, ivenever experienced a more highlyover-rated player!

Lampard has acheived next to nothing for England, as has Rio.

Terry is the only player i see playing with passion everytime he sticks on an England shirt! You see it most the time with SG.

Darren Bent is a formiddable goalscorer, he played at Charlton, a poor Spurs side and an average Sunderland side, and still he cant stop scoring!

Andy Carroll has amazing strength and arial abilities, how he can be overlooked in his current (til he got injured) form is ludacris!

Look what aron lennon has done to Inter, AC, chelsea, Man U defences in the past few years. Since working with Beckham his Xing has massively improved, and with someone like Carroll in the box, we need an old style winger like him! Same with Ashley young, quick, skilfull and a class player.

Walcott is hopeless at football, he gets time on the ball and is clearly not football minded. He thrives on adrenaline, under pressure, big crowd, split second decision, it goes one of two ways, not an international ywt IMO.

Capello- Why should we respect and employ a ITI (unt that cant be bothered to learn our language! Hoe can you give a decisive, lifting pre match/half time team talk through a translator FFS! Its absoloutely ridiculous.

Harry has been around, proven his magic at Pompey, WHU, THFC etc etc. He gets the most out of what hes got. Def 100% the right man for the job there.

As for Beckham as assistant manager/coach. Who else has been told that theyre finished at international level, and has tried their hardest to prove theyre still up to it? He has a break from his club side, and at the age of 35, comes to train with an English club for free! He was a class act as an England player, passionate England fan, and has seen the highs and lows of the game.

Til such time as something changes on the England front, be it players or manager, i have no interest whatsoever in the team.

Rant Over lol

I think you meant Sunderland A.F.C (but for different, non-racist reasons to the ones you state.) lol

1-1 is fair as tbh my aleigances were divided! Go on Baby Jet! Keep on dancin! lol

As for Darren B£nt, he missed far too many sitters at Sunderland and the little crybaby went in the huff with our club when we turned Cheslki over at the Bridge and he couldn't score. He's not what he seems. Spurs fans tried to tell us when we signed him, and Villa are already complaining!

Paul you should be a pundit you talk some sense lol the only reason were crap at the world cups is we have a ridiculous amount of games during a season with all the crappy cups bar Fa cup then theres champions league and internationals players at the top will be playing 50 60 games before they even get to world cup it's nearly 11 months without a break and then expect them to perform it takes the biscuit were the only country that doesn't have a winter break an then the Fa wonder why we don't do well in competitions there absolutely brain dead! People say for the money they earn they should be able to perform all the time and there playin for there country they should always be amazing well they are human and can only do what there body allows them to if you play that many games in a season by the time you get to the summer tournaments you'll be running on empty no matter how proud and how much you want to do your best! My rant over sorry if I bored you lol

Paul
30-03-11, 10:44 AM
I disagree there, the average int. player will go 50games a season after suspension, injuries etc, so roughly 5 games a month. That is 5 hours of proper work per month! I know roofers/labourers etc who slog their bollocks off for 40 hours a week, go to the gym a few nights a week then go and play football for fun on a Sat and Sun.

Tired is absoloutely no excuse, these pro footballers are unbeleivably fit, or they ought to be!

honie5
30-03-11, 11:32 AM
Yer labourers etc work very hard I dont doubt that! It may only be 90mins but it's very hard work it's a different type of fitness you try playing sat Tuesday sat they maybe fit but I dont care how fit you are playing 50+ games a season is physically draining unless you've actually played professionally and seen what kind or work footballers do then you wouldn't understand! People think footballers have a jolly up and get paid thousands I can assure you that's not the case! You say 5 hours a month work but they still train they don't just turn up for games!

The lad is still scum though. Shouldn't get aay with beating women up etc then be rewarded as he is,and £35M let's not even go there (again!)

Looked better at the cartton army cos he was a decent strong striker in a mediocre side. How good did he look when the cigar stubbing out in team mates eyes role model that is Joey Barton wasn't there to bomb crosses into the box though? lol Non existent!

Footballers get paid their massive wages by clubs to get results. If their training schedule is so manic it makes them too physically exhausted to play all their games, then that is poor management from the coaching staff.

There is no reason whatsoever a sports professional cannot put in 100% effort for 3 hours a week. If they cant, then they simply dont deserve to be a pro footballer.

Hope he flops at Liverpool, although I doubt he will

Oh I thought you knew that the Toon squad was packed full of role models ? :d

To be fair tho Stoke tried to get Barton sent off and he stayed cool

Paul sorry but your living in a dream world lol if you think it's 3 hours work your seriously wide of the mark! For starters it's 90 minutes per game! I would love for you to spend just 2 weeks in the life of a footballer so you could see what it's all about there's so much more to it then just running around for 90mins! But that's your opinion!

Re-read my previous post cause you are completely missing the point i made. They are paid to get results for the team. You do this by playing in a competetive match. 2 a week at 90mins= 3hours. What i said before

If they are so tired that they cant do this, then theyre either not good/fit enough to be a pro. Or the manager/coaches need a re-think.

honie5
30-03-11, 02:59 PM
I said about playing saturday Tuesday Saturday which is physically tough when you get towards the end of the season! Fact! Your missing the point that I made in the first place they can do it but they will not be fresh and will still have the season they've played in there legs I.e fatigue which affects your performance! No other countries play as many games in such a crammed space like we do here! Money or being a professional being fit enough etc doesn't stop fatigue so like I said in the first place if we had a winter break I would put my house on it that England would perform better then they have! Obviously there's other factors but this is a major factor if you ask any footballer they would agree!

Paul
30-03-11, 03:30 PM
We didnt have a winter break in 66 or 90 or 96.

Fabregas plays his football in the UK, as does Torres, Kuyt and Van Persie.

La Liga winter break usually lasts for 10/11 days from a monday til the following friday, thus one game is delayed.

The English PL stops for this time on cup weekends, internationals etc.

I dont see your point about a winter break?

Back to my previous statement, roofers/labourers etc who slog their nuts off all day thengo to the gym then play football at the weekend, they font get a winter break, nor do they get a long summer break. If they as non proffesional sportspersons can do it without getting 'fatigued' why cant our pros?

They even get the best physios, massages etc as snd when they please.

I will leave it there seeing as its going way off topic, but i complrtely disagree with 'fatigue'.

If i was given the chance to play for my country, i would give it 100% and make no excuses.

honie5
30-03-11, 09:54 PM
No but the games moved on since then the tempo is alot faster it's more physical and they didn't play as many games! As for Torres etc how many minutes did they play in the world cup not many so it wouldn't of affected them! Labourers work hard yes but Sunday league isn't exactly hard is it let's be honest they all stand at the side and have a fag at half time lol and you would be surprised at how much difference a week off would be getting away from it all together gives you time to chill and be refreshed! You wouldn't see my point as you have never played professionally and don't understand that it's not just running around a pitch for 90mins and have very nieve views! Anyway like you say off track so end of!

Paul
31-03-11, 12:20 AM
Professionally i havent. But i have played for some very very good teams who have taken it very seriously, trained 3 times a week, whilst juggling it around school/college/work. Played at Roots Hall, WHL, Wembley etc. My dad worked in the tunnel at WHL for a fair few years, im not stupid, i appreciate they do a lot of work off the pitch. But the point im making, is that if theyre then too tired to perform where it counts on the pitch, then something is a cropper. Whether it be poor management or the players fitness not upto scratch.

Andy
31-03-11, 08:30 AM
If theyre knackered, theyre sh1t end of.
I used to do 10hour days groundworking (digging by hand),then gym every other day, then training on a wednesday night and a match on sundays.
I was smoking and drinking almost every day aswel.
Did i cry and blame my poor performances on being tired?? did i fukk i got on with it,guess how much i got paid for it? nowt,i did it because i enjoyed representing my team, hell we used to be spewing some games as we had been on the lash the night before, never stopped us winning!
Sh1t,overpaid cunnts half of them, its ALWAYS somebody elses fault,i mean, why cant they just put their hands up and say "we were dog shyte today and deserved to be humiliated".
"ey up heres the gaffer to give us a bolloking,oh no it aint its the interpretor with a pre prepared statement" ??!!!
WTF?!!

We used to do some brilliant ones,my team mate once pretended to be getting head from the corner flag and another ran over to the touchline sat down and simulated w4nking LOL
Fukkin brilliant times!!
