driver side drive shaft on my f13 box wont come out trying to get it out with hammer and chisel but looks like shaft is siezed into bearing need ideas urgent

put the wheel back on and try pulling the wheel.

get angry with it, usually shock treatment works best and i dont mean saying boo.

Sit down alongside the gearbox and quickly jerk the shaft outwards, then turn the shaft then jerk it out again, They can be twunts but they will come out, i have never needed a hammer or chisel.

My experience is that you push the drive shaft in all the way, then pull out sharply, using the driveshaft like a slide Hammer and the pop out, assuming it is disassembled from the hub, might work with it installed, if the bottom ball joint is disconnected from the lower arm

i always disassemble it all then slide the cv back through the hub and hand tighten the king nut then pull the whole lot for extra levarage.

is it being sold.
if so leave them in lol.
do you NEED to take them out..

last time i dealt with drive shafts on a 1.2 nova i chopped them lol.

edit. split the box and engine, put the shaft in a vice and jump on the box. will soon come off.

i have always just tugged on them, then spin, then tug will come out eventually

Should come out, the sharper/quicker the tug the better;)

I've always just kept pushing and pulling until they came out. If they don't pull harder.

Bloody clever shaft, get it a NI number and hunting for some welding work!

Pop the plate of the bottom of the diff part. You'll see the 2nds of the cvs. You can get a hammer a chisel in there and pop them from the inside.

tie the shaft to a car...tie box down....go flat scat and hope for the best :d
