and after finding out what it is? the problem im haveing is when you turn the car on it makes a horrible noise when warm its quite on tick over but as the engine revs the noise starts to get louder if you spray it with a bit of wd40 its fine till the next time you use it ?
That's the water pump :) Get it replaced asap!
Its a guide/roller the ball bearings inside it will have gone dry so it will squeal/squeak.

you should be able to get it out withot removing the engine if you remove the cam belt cover, you may have to unbolt the front mount and jack the drivers side up a little but it will come out you can do an xe one in the car and there is loads more room with the v6
I tried briefly once to get the timing belt cover off with the engine in situ and no joy, IIRC there was one bolt that was slightly too long to come out. Didn't try jacking it up though, was just a quick fettle.
there is loads more room with the v6
Bear in mind that yes the V6 is shorter than an XE, but not by one cylinder as the engine isn't 3 cylinders wide (they're offset so its more like 3.3ish cylinders wide) so whilst there is more room than a 4cyl, there's not as much as everyone makes out.
