if using on the road atb, tranx is too aggresive and will want to snatch steering wheel out your hands!

What are you using the car for? Because if it's for road use then the atb is apparently a better all round diff if you want a plate diff look for a gripper diff as they are supposed to be amazing in the dry

If your doing motorsport then a plate diff if you need just a bit more grip then ATB diff.
I use a Tran-x for tarmac rallying and it dose not pull out of my hands and I have no power steering. Tran-x are adjustable can be set to your liking.

I'd use a plate diff on the road in an everyday car over an ATB type... but thats just my personal preference.

I have found ATB's to be snatchy and nasty compared to the 'always on progression' a plate gives.

Different strokes for different folks

Best bet is to ask the guys at Tran-x that's what I did to get my setting :thumb:
Just tell them what your going to use it for and they will advise you on the best setting's.
