Are they stupid???

Tried to call them today to enquire about a EH112 form (overseas treatment). As i am still a UK citizen and taxpayer i am entitled to NHS treatment when i am abroad. Stupid Slag says yeah if you can get your UK GP to send us a letter confirming what you say we will send you the forms.

HELLO I rang the overseas helpline as guess what? I am overseas!!! So NO i cant get a UK GP to send you a letter FFS

Should you not have taken a EHIC (European Health Insurance Card with you)?

what country are you in?

little bit more involved thtn that as they need proof that my mrs is pregnant, because of course i would apply for her giving birth abroad if she wasnt!

contact the British embassy\consulate abroad. They will sort it out for you, they will provide proof that you are sponsored by NHS.

airline won't take you after 36 weeks pregnant, some are 34 - i would push the consulate to get proof of nhs entitlement.

what country you in?

this is the problem they just pass us from one to the other!

but whats the point in having overseas dept if you need confirmation from the uk!

I'm afraid when it comes to goverment stuff you have to get andry with them, say that she is having stomach pains and could go into labour anytime.

The consulate can confirm your entitlement, they are just being lazy
