No its against the law to have 2 insurance policies on one car.

Weird rule but true

not that weird, if you could insure a car lots of times you could make money every time you had a crash.

No, cause only 1 company would pay out. Not everyone can take the same crashed car.

thats stupid, dont really wanna cancel my policy when ive only got a few months to go. Just insure a 1ltr nova ive got in the garage... does an insured car have to be taxed? Why cant anything just be easy

i want to carry on my insurance so i dont lose out on my no claims bonus,

also, her company wont add me anyway. 1.6 astra, ive been driving nearly 6 years no claims made never had an accident, insurance is a scam

Sure, swap to the shell. Best to ensure its SORN'ed though to avoid the new insurance + tax/sorn laws that are around

loads of bullsh!t laws regarding insurance but if youve got a logbook or shell doing nothing, insure that to keep your no-claims going.

not entierly true normaly in the case of dual insurance the 2 insurers will both pay a 50% stake on the claim but then when you come to re insure you have to declaire 2 claims, also most insurers will not touch you on insurance if you have no insurable interest in a car which if its owned by someone other than you or your partner you dont have an insurable interest, there are exceptions like company and hire cars but think you will find it hard to insure if the car is owned by a parent etc

^ that explains why a lot of insurance companies ask if (or require that) the primary driver is the person named on the V5

Made no difference trying to insure at 0miles, 50miles, 500miles and 2K miles when I was trying to get a 'maintenance of NCB policy' lol
