Just received a random text message form a completely odd number..

Rolling road this Sunday @ Interpro Thronbury Bristol

Being Ran by Region 5

Redline are attending to do a feature of the day, also will be featured in the PCC car clubs magazine.

Sounds like would be a good day but about 24 months early for me to attend with my car :o

Also a bit odd how my number got plucked from the air? What an odd day its been

interpro are wank.
Local rr (powerstation- on the money with power readings) replied to a mate about the cheapest/best way to get his standard 2.0LET turbo to 300bhp...

said they could do it for ?40.

'?20 petrol to interpro, then another ?20 to stick it on their rolling road-- you will see 300bhp then'

lmao
 8)

They seemed to get quite an accurate result from CP's. Similar results to Velos motorsport which are renound for being very accurate.

IMO looked like a proffessional place to me, rally cars everywhere, space frame car being made etc etc They can't be that bad if that many people trust them to work on there race cars.

richard rag(g) does most of his business at interpro (for tohse not enlightened he is the owner/daddy of Omex)

and to be honest if he thinks they are ok then i wouldnt doubt him.

unless they "uncalibrate" the rollers for RR days to make people feel better, and in CP's case they put the proper calibration prehaps??? lol

shame i wont be about in this realm as of saturday lol

I have never used interpro as they dont have a good reputaion round here (i live about 6-7 miles away).

They quoted my friend ?4k to rebuild his Copsworth and he got it done for less than ?1800 by an RS specialist in the end.

But its the same old story, lots slag off Courtenay and Regal, everyone has had bad customers but for all the ones there are, there are always loads that are happy with the service they offer.

But they seem to be very popular for rolling road days, so cant be that bad

I've worked in the industry where customer service is vital. They say that on average 1 happy customer will tell 5 of his/her friends of the experience that they recieved. However, an unhappy customer will tell 10 or more people of the bad service they recieved. Swings and roundabouts really. I'd go to somewhere recommended to me by someone I trust, but I'd also go to somewhere that has had mixed reviews. Until you try it for yourself, you can't say for sure.

I went there and hads a spot on reading.

Dan will agree with me on this that powerstation just rag the shit outta ur car and charge 2-3 times as much as interpro

well they did nearly kill mine by overfuelling it so excessivly that it would spit hugeeee flames if booted and backed off and washed the bores and ruined my oil within 300 miles, then i had to get it sorted which cost even moreeeeeee money. Same same with interpro and those from cheltenham, i have used both and both say EXACTLY the same about each other, just trying to scare customers off from going to other place so they stay to get 'accurate' readings as they so call it.

And as for figures they mean diddly sqaut, just a rough guide. Mine only made 140bhp at velos and allegedly 127lbft torque. The only true test is up the strip ( had to get that one in      )

i thought yours got a high reading tilly

i had 114bhp

exactly 15% from just a k&n i rest my case especially when its an old engine so prob wasnt 100 to start with

Ben (lurk75)

does seem very good considering age and mileage etc.

they had a combo van get nearly 85BHP

Phil_G

HI,

bit like when you hit 200bhp on the rollers at powerzone with a chip and filter and zorst

33% from just that on an old engine...

Whilst 114BHP is high(ish) i dont think it is unreasonable. Seem to remember Howell Jones clocked a similar figure in his old GSi.

Anyhow.. the people you want to laugh at are those who measure a 55bhp 1200 at 94bhp (zorst and filter) ! i dont see as a couple of horsepower either way should matter.

15bhp from a k&n is a high figure - fact

well its the only obvious mod that has been done to my car. there were enough people of nl there to see it for themselves its not just my imagination

Ian
19-06-03, 07:58 PM
i didnt say you didnt get 114 i only said that the rollers were probably reading high.

Tilly

Hi,

point is, not as unfeasably high as some... There are more imortant things to worry about on this planet than what bhp someone made and whether you think its accurate or not.

Think the text might have come from the RO of region 5. Unless it was my missus passing on the text(RO for reg14)
