knocking noise

hello my friend has a nova and has just noticed a knocking noise from his front left wheel, it knocks when he shakes the front of the car or when turning around corners and also u can hear it knocking when breaking. does anyone know what it is most likely to be, could it be the wheel bearings?

maybe CV boot joint / track rod ends

More than likely it's the CV boot joint. I've got the same problem on my car. If it was the wheel bearings, you would hear the noise whenever you are in motion.

more likely to be track rod end if it does it when braking

thanks for your replys just wondering is it dangerous to drive with it knocking will the wheel come off or anything bad?
