View Full Version : Slimline fan wiring
Got a slimline fan mounted on the rad, its got a blue and black wire.
When connected one way it pulls air through but when connected the other way it just spins and doesn't seem to pull or push
On the advert it says its a pull/push fan.
What am I doing wrong?
Edit: I want it to push
dont you need to take off the spinning bit and turn it over...
i don't know
i thought you just swap the wires around
Swapping the wires should change the direction but you'll also be able to remove and rotate the fan blades to "sweep" in a different direction. So a combination of both is what you need I reckon

well hang on. It might not be reversable via the wiring; some are, some arent.
So check that first. The other wire maybe an earth so sending a live feed to that is going to damage fan or electrics..
If its not reversable polarity-wise then as mentioned may need fan blades removing and fitting back-to-front or youve just bought the wrong type, need to change it.
If it said push / pull on ad though ; suggests it does reverse
