Wiring a switch up to fan

Hi all can any one shed me some light?

i want to wire a switch to turn fan on manually.. but also let it still turn on automatically... i have a pic of what i have, could some one please draw on my diagram what wire goes where? thanking you

To trigger the fan manually you bridge the two rad temp switch wires. I believe one of these is an earth, so if you take a wire off the other one, run it through a switch and then earth the other side I reckon that should do it.

dead simple. you get a length of twin core cable, put 2 x piggyback spades on it. they are the ones like this piccy.

you then undo the switch terminals, and fit these, then refit the switch terminals.. then run the wire thru to the back of the dash, and connect the two wires to your switch.

iain was correct... this is by far the simplest way of doing it.

That's the sort of layout you want. I've done that from memory though so things might not be in quite the right order but the principle is there lol

what wires is it to the fan or the censor on the side of the rad

I reckon earthing the brown/white on the rad switch should do it.

When your ignition is on the fan live feed becomes live and the fan switch cuts it to earth to spin the fan up, use the brown/white wire as said, and tap into that and run one side to your switch, run the other side of your switch to an earth and thats it job done, the fan switch will still work as normal and you have an override to keep the temp down when you want/need to, like queing to get into pod @ pvs when its baking hot for example:thumb:
