They rust for fun. A lad I went to college with had a 3 pot one, much later than a K reg and it failed the MOT on corrosion. Handled well though...he got stopped for 'tripoding' on a roundabout. Typical jap hot hatch

Made a out of paper thin metal but very quick. Mine used to give my old 116bhp nova gte a good run for its money. Can suffer from weak gearboxs and major rust. I had to relace both inner & outter sills both sides on mine.

Get an insurance quote first, going by that other thread £3-4k seems to be the norm but these things were always silly insurance back when i thought a grand was expensive:eek:

I had an F reg, the usual mods - Filter, Piper cams and a Janspeed full system, Koni's it was a very quick wee car. The standard exhaust is very restrictive.
Gearboxes are crap, 1st gear was useless gave instant wheel spin it was as if 1st was from a different gearbox than the rest. I think mine was on the 3rd box when I smashed it.
They are a bit light in the metal department, I had a bump in mine and the engine and box were ripped completely out the car. The floor kinked downwards in front of my seat and the bulkhead, steering column made a good attempt at coming to meet me.
But, I would have another one in a minute.

This is tempting at £1000 to insure. 115bhp. lol

Problem is i'm after a diesel for motorway miles rather than a toy at the moment. lol
