called egine matting i think, 2 help keep the engine warm in the winter, ive took mine off 2 :D

Also stop you from hearing too much of the engines noise, but if you've slapped on a ruddy great exhaust and air filter it makes no difference anyway!!!
It does make the heaters warm up quicker in the winter though.
