How do you remove the rear parcel shelf on a saloon?

I want to remove the parcel shelf, but inside the boot underneath it is a metal panel. So I'm guessing that it has to be removed from inside the car somehow, and I can't see how it would come out. I don't want to pull it or force out so I don't break it, any advice on how to remove this would be appreciated

Remove rear seat upper back, prise metal tangs forward and slide shelf out.
