only the ones with COSCAST stamped on the side of the block are!

there are redtop engines that both are and are not Coscast, there is a guide in Total vauxhall telling you all the signs to look for. cant remember what issue.

EDIT: just checked and its the april 02 copy of total vauxhall with the Carlton GSi on the front with the guide in.

What confused me was the mention of cosworth in the first post. I thought that cosworth was a ford thing?

Cosworth are a very well devloped tuing company, there systems work best on the ford engines and this is why are mostly done to this.

Cosworth have worked on many engines such as the mercedes and vaux ones.

Kind of like lotus did for the carlton but they only do engine work.

No. Cosworth are now owned by Ford...but once were a self owned company by Keith Duckworth and Mike Costin...hence COS(tin)(duck)WORTH. Company started in the 1950's

They are most commenly known to be accociated with Ford because of the success from the Sierra and Escort models.

Cosworth do a lot of engines for other companies now as well...Like Aprilia racing bike team, Aston Martin, etc... but production cars are now done by the other half of Cosworth called Cosworth Technology..which is owned by Audi! Audi 'RS4 Sport 2' is developed by Cosworth...more than 30% more power than old RS4! BEAST!

Cosworth Racing do mostly raacing development.

i know what u mean but your not quite there

parkers lists all the correct cars in the IG section BUT it lists NO 1.3 models

similarly on the used car prices

having said that AGAIN LOL i just checked to make sure what i was saying was right - and i saw the 2ltr on there once, although i cant find it now :S
