View Full Version : calibra brakes onto nova - help
right my mate bought a c20xe calibra to break so i said i will take the brakes for my nova, i know the front fit straight on, but the rears are discs, i know i need the conversion plates or can use the ones off the calibra? also does the cally have a bias valve or will i need an afermarket one?
cheers

dont think the cally has a bias valve if it did it would be no god on a nova.
i dont think you can use the stuff off a calibra, pretty sure its different due to the independant rear suspension

cav sri rears or cav fixed beam ie v6
really? cant even use the calipers etc? and get the plates to weld to the nova axle to mount everything?
irs is different to beam, the mucky bits might be the same, but the stub axle will mount differently
so not worth the hassle or get a stub axle from a cav or astra?
rear discs brakes aren't worth the aggro unless you are really desperate to fill the middle of some skinny 17" alloys, cos they add precisely bugger all to the braking effort on a road car, but if you want to go all group A rallying with 2 m/cylinders & bias bars & hydr handbrake, then ok,
i know the do feck all over drums but was going for looks tbh. was getting them cheap off a calibra my mates breaking as i was using the fronts anyway. was meant to be removing them today so i suppose i could keep calipers and get a stub axle from the scrappies. tis also something ive always fancied doing :)
fair enough. if they are still crap, you could always stick them on ebay as the ultimate mod for a corsa innit, that helps the value
yeah thats true. +rep mowgli
