If its a proper SR, id keep the 1300 and put some webers or something.
If not then maybe build up a nice clean C20XE or a C16SE, Id stick to the bodywork for now though.
Keep us updated whatever you do :)
No If I remember correctly its originally a 1.2 L
I like it - will look **** hot once all cleaned up, nice retro colour as-well shame its been rapped of all its brown interior will be hard to source/replace it all but good luck i'll be watching this one.
What's the plans for the beast? Keep us updated mate
My old car! Nice to see its still out there, it was orignally a 1.2L, logbook was down as a 2.0 when I sold it to a guy on migweb, ive still got most of the interior for it besides seats and carpets.
I think you should start off with a 1.2/ 1.3 mate, good luck.

o sorry thats the manifolds i was lookin at i fink this is the link.....
http://www.car-tuning-racing-styling.co.uk/CAR-TUNING-STYLING/0-Weber-carburettors-4.html
Make sure you type/spell properly
Don't get one from them its a rip off mate.
Start a new thread in the wanted parts section link> http://www.pngclub.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=13
Or try Ebay, you should pick one up really cheap for a 1.2.
The one I think you will need is the Pierburg 1B1
Have a read of >THIS< (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93429) it may come in use for you
Imo the only way to get any power increase with a 1.2 (in terms for power/money) is to fit another engine. 13sb engines are a good start, or maybe a 16se?

hbjsupernova
22-03-11, 12:00 AM
the link above basically is the manifold i need but if im putting a 1.6 in which i want to do then il need these wont i
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Astra-Nova-1-4-NV-1-6-SV-Tw-Weber-DCOE-Inlet-Manifold-/290546452772?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43a5eb0924#ht_1835wt_905
and the webers will fit on that wont they?
All this talk of engine conversions and that, I presume this is to be a daily car? Fat chance of insuring anything other than the 1.2 lmao.
You're going to have fun changing the logbook too thanks to the DVLA.
edit just read that your 17 from your first post.
Just chuck the 1.2 in and leave it lol.
not really worth chucking money into it tbh, just save up your ncb till you can afford to upgrade the engine
Just make the exterior/inside/underneath mint and do small cheap mods.

I've got a daily car to use I want this to do as fun and want to do the engine that's why I bought it. The idea was to do a nova engine as a project and basically see the end result

I would just jam the 1.2 in as standard and when you can insure it put the 2.0 8v back in. Or go the xe route.
hbjsupernova
22-03-11, 10:57 AM
ok il try that thanks
Just so it stays on topic
if im putting a 1.6 gte/gsi in which i want to do then il need these wont i
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Astra-Nova-1-4...#ht_1835wt_905
and the webers will fit on that wont they?
Links not working, and you want 40 DCOE webbers ideally, which are jetted to a 1.6 8v
Theres a set for sale on here CLICKY (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=165602)
You will also need a inlet manifold, alternator lowering bracket, + other few bits that i cant think of lol
