20XE timing (dizzy)

Haynes says something like 8 degrees timing on a 20XE right?

I've had a timing light on mine (the type where you dial in what timing you want on the gun and match it up with the mark on the bottom pulley). Clipped it over HT lead #1 and ran it to temperature

It seems to flash on the pulley mark when it's at 22 on the gun, what is going on and how do I adjust it? :wtf:

Engine runs OK and pulls fine but has a slight jerkiness when cruising at 2-3000 rpm so figured ign timing was out slightly.

unbolt the dizzy slightly and turn it very slowly and the timing should change, thats how i used to doit on me old dizzy cars

There's only a few mm adjustment on the dizzy, just removed the bolts and moved it a few cm and it seemed to make no difference at all
