well ive got a few pictures to put up and this is where we all start is it not ?

i bought a v6 nova in a gsi shell originaly built by gaznovalet and this is my project it is my every day car for the min currently the spec is :

GSI on the log book
Very Strong C25xe engine with chipped ecu and 3.0 cams
F20 Box
Full 6 point cage with door bars
Sabelt Harness's
OMP Steering wheel and Boss
Astra GTE digi dash
Nova GSI black dash
top tint screen
Carbon fibre sunroof panel
Battery relocated to the boot
GTE seats
2.25" stainless exhaust system
Rear disc conversion
5 stud setup
Cavalier Turbo alloys with 4 good 195/45/16 tyres
gaz rear coilovers
avo front coilovers
alloy front top mounts
front strut brace
rear strut brace
polybushed
fully seam welded shell
single wiper conversion
custom bonnet

ive had a bit of bother with it witch resulted in removeing the dash and chassing a few wires round the loom and the fact its trying to rip it self apart but sorted these bits my plans are to start on the nova rust on the front wings and a rear arch

Shi7 the bed.. it wants some plates adding and bracing a bit. Maybe even cutting out completely and adding a piece of box section.

I can't understand why all the Gsi stuff has been removed?

Is the crack above the gearbox mount not just filler that has cracked as thats not the standard shape.

TANKNOVA
18-03-11, 11:00 PM

Bit harsh Baxter
Not really,its a fukkin dog,filler to hide the shagged chassis legd/inner wing=Noice.....
Weld it properly and it will be fine, baxter isnt a structural misfit, just a mechanical, which isnt as dangerous....

Wow, this car has had some owners since having the V6 fitted.

The guy who bought it off Gaz told me it was rough and a total deathtrap, shame as it was a nice car when originally built with a 1.6 in it years ago.

TANKNOVA

I would just like to say for a grand its not that bad as for the filler etc I haven't done it and the point of this thred is me fixing these said Bodges

haha i've seen much worse cross members than that. It's not holed from the look of it.

The chassis leg is filler to get that shape. That's where the crack is in. But there will be rust under it.

sounds awesome this and i really liked it shame it was a bodge from day one with me had to fix sooooo many **** ups on it and in the end decided to fuk it off its one of those cars that just needs attention every weekend ideally strip all the coilovers cage engine box etc and get a new shell. Im building another V6 now lol cant beat the sound!

It's Scotland lol the weather eats cars. I looked at a nova and the sills were solid and a year later I bought it and put my hand through the passenger sill.

Yeah it is, knew I recognised the plate.

http://www.pngclub.com/images/car_images/2174big.jpg
Ahhhh so it is. Can't believe I didn't recognise it, even with it living local to me for a while. I'm sure it never really ran right on the 1.6 mind, I saw it out a couple times and it sounded pretty rough - I'm sure I remember reading Ben had to get the carbs tweaked a bit to get it running properly.

Tank, any plans for it?

TANKNOVA
21-03-11, 08:30 PM
Only plans I have at the min is to tidy up the body work as rust on both front wings drivers door bottom and passenger rear arch sort the shambles of a exhaust and go from there
