nope i had a fuse keep poping so had to take the dash out to trace the wire after chassing the wire round the car i notices a black wire comeing out the rocker cover and a blue going in so removed the rocker cover and there it was a blue wire a crimp and a black running down to the coil pack !

TANKNOVA

I don't think it's to bad at all I haven't found any thing other then the crossmember ripping that's dangerous

brainsnova

I don't think it's that bad and at the end of the day a welder can fix most things.

for the 1200 quid asking price for a 20+ year old car i would exspect to get one with a crossmember chassis rails and gearbox mount still atached

also one without the possibility of the wiring going up in smoke due to wiring beeing traped under the rocker covers ect

but that said to be fair that seems to be the going rate just lately for one with no tax or test so its not all bad i surpose

like you say for 1200 quid i would expect a nice solid shell .
the price of nova's is a bit silly i think

Just get the gremlins sorted ( well the ones you know of lol) and use the fuker if it breaks fix it if it breaks again burn it! :D

I would get the front wings etc stripped off and drop the engine out and get the bay and arches etc sandblasted and weld up what's needed. Then you know its solid.

I was VERY tempted to buy this car when it was for sale last summer. Kind of glad i didnt now, although for the price the guy was asking i could of easily made my money breaking it.

Aslong as everything is sorted now it should be a good laugh to drive :thumb:

Thought it was £900 but you kept saying £1k, something like that anyway lol If i didnt buy another car that week i was going to pay you the price you was asking, or at least view it anyway. Was going to use half the bits on my nova and sell the rest lol

Jacks has been fine lol

Is the one that had all the holes drilled in the grill/front bumper?
Yep.

Actually, say what you like about Lee's death touch to XE's and my fiery wiring skills, consider the saloon has happily run for a couple years now with no major issues (sure it ran down on power for a while but that was me being too lazy to fix it lol). So that proves they are a viable daily, if they're built properly. As for the 2.5 pulling the chassis apart, I'd be a bit concerned about that... Does it have a plating kit on it? I put one on mine (which being the 3.0 will be pushing out a fair bit more torque than the 2.5) and its been Ok so far.

TANKNOVA
21-03-11, 08:27 PM
Well that's the idea this one is going to be a daily I just had a week of so wanted to get every thing done it has got the full kit in the rear full bay even the drivers side cross member the only plate I can't see is where it's ripped but iv welded it back together and plated that now
