*Update vid link now on page 10*
Hi right where do I start I began a project trying to fit a b16 Honda vtec into my nova about 18months ago during that time ive had some financial problems which brought the whole build to a totally stand still.
Now though I'm back on my feet and happy to report thing are flying along!
Early pics and reasons for this choice can be found in the link below these pic and comments were all befor money probs got bad
http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=143445&page=10
Since then a new better paid job resulting in a massive cash injection to the project have bought it along in leaps and bounds. I know people don't like these kinds of posts without "evidence" so I'll be back at the garage working on the Sunday and will take lots of up to date "evidential" photos lol
I know some people are vauxhall through and through and sorry if the pics of a Honda engine in a nova upset you but I also have a passion for vauxhalls but I also like pushing boundarys having said that I am open to criticism and don't mind the odd insult lol
Any hope you like what you see and I'll report back soon with up to date pics and info
Cheers for looking Ant
Glad to see thatr its back on track, i remember that thread, all those haters hating then once you put the pics up there was silence lol.
Amazing work so far, looking forward to seeing it finished ;)

well done mate, fair play to you,i for one doubted this coyuld ever be done so nice one!
That will be some weapon when finished and opens a whole new avenue of tuning options which result in far better bhp per £££

To avoid the wheel hitting the gearbox on full lock
Running gaz gold coilovers with fabricated top mounts and all fabricated extended lower arms and rack ect.

Cool. Did you make the engine mounts yourself? How did you manage with the driveshafts?

Cool. Did you make the engine mounts yourself? How did you manage with the driveshafts?
Gearbox and cam end engine mounts are modified Honda units the front and rear are fully fabed units
As for the shafts I made mock up ones by joining Honda and large vaux ones together and then when length was all sorted sent away and had some made same as the mock ones but from one solid piece of material

Myself and my dad do all the fab work between us we are both engineers and work on lathes and milling machines all day so comes as second nature
As much as i am interested in the engine bay have you

There's been one with anon vtec d series twin cam that would only go in strait lines because of drivers wheel hitting gearbox
There was also one that was started with a 2 litre vtec out of a civic ep3 type r but was abandoned and never finish
Do you know of another??

Pic of the top mounts these are not the finished job they are made so the they are adjustable at the mo so we can move them out to suit the wider track and keep the the standard kpi

Yes mate im out in a 205 Rallye, 3rd year out at Weston Park we came first in class last year so need to be on it again from the start!
Engines only standard but Simon can fair peddle it and we work well together as a team, Last year we put a 180bhp Bowyer Nova to shame with 100hp less but we may not be so lucky this year!
Its a cracking event especially the end of the stage its similar to IOM lanes and really varied.
If you go come over and say hi!

Flow shouldn't be effected to much they look closer in the pic than they actually are. And yeah I can slip filter socks onto the trumpets so no probs there

28-04-11, 10:42 AM
If the tuner say air flow is being restricted enough to bother the engine I'll cut a small section of the bulkhead and put a 90degree inswept panel in to let the air flow easier but I don't forsee a prob with it

Bens 2nd civic ran one of the B16 engine's in it.
Had a dyno printout of 175bhp at the wheels, and had a tendancy to ping it off the limiter every five minuites...that never broke.
The D14 honda engine in the first car (1.4, single cam 16v, non vtec) took enough boost to make a dyno'd 180bhp at the wheels, that had the same treatment, and a month of running an original ECU with no remap, and proceeded to last three months further of him winding the boost controller up a smidge every other day...cant remember for **** what he was running when it finally broke, but i know it was well over 12psi (with a standard head gasket, head studs, pistons, rods, crank, standard compression, and 91,000 on the clock)
VERY strong engines, only reason i'd ever own one tbh!!
What's the engine out of a jordan or just a vti mate. My mate has an ek9 nothing beats the noise
