Help!!

I av a Nova 1.0.. 1989..

Car takes a while to start as it as a manual choke..

Once started wen i tuch accelerator it takes a while to get the revs up..

Its the same when drivin.. If am in low revs an a put foot dwn it jus doesnt wana go.. :S..

Av changed petrol pump but tha didnt elp.. :(..

Any advice??

it sounds like it needs servicing & properly setting up at a decent independant garage that still understands carb engines...

BUT remember, a 1.0 nova is hardly going to set speed records, it is not a very quick car to start off with

I av ad it for about 3 yrs.. but as onli been on the road 6 month.. woz a mess wen i got it.. it woz fine wen i got it on the road but ova the lst 3wks it as jus lost loads of power.. :(..

probably a timing issue, or you have disturbed all the crap in the tank

It will more than likely be a timing or fuel issue, probably too rich/weak mixture.

is the choke out to much.
sometimes i used to have the choke out to much, and it would cough and splutter until i put it in and then it would be fine.

It takes forever 2 start.. But its the same whilst drivin.. the revs jus not ther as soon as i touch the accelerator.. :(.. been told 2 clean the carb out.. but some how i dont think tha wil work.. :(..

its either crap in the carb, or a timing problem as we have already said, or maybe a poorly adjusted choke.. it needs to go to a proper old fashioned garage.

i recon a good service, change all filters, oil, plugs, leads, dizzy...and see if that helps.

and clean the carb with carb cleaner. get all the gunk and crap out of it
