Starting Problem

I have a problem with my nova, when i try and start the car its like there's not enough juice in the battery.
However ive checked the voltage in the battery and its 12v, the live to the starter motor is also 12v, but when i crank it over the voltage at the battery drops to 2volts. When i first crank it the start motor tries to turn the engine over, then i just get starter soleniod 'click' and the dash gauges go as if the batteries flat.

Sounds like a dead cell in the battery to me.
