When doing the xe conversion in to nova do people bother using the oil cooler or just leave it out. I have soured one but was wondering if its totally nessesery, as i have seen some do and some dont.

And if i dont, what do i use instead of??

I've never used one. Very late xe's dont come with them either. (i only would for a proper track car)

You can use a thread tube from a 8v lump that screws in to the pump when you have removed that sandwich plate.

thanks for that. so is it just a cae of removing the plate and threading the tube straight on?

Yes undo the original threaded tube and the sandwich plate will come off, then refit an 8v tube (shorter) and on with the oil filter.

where can i source the 8v tube??

Scrappy, think I took one off a smallblock 8v, Astra or something. Note they don't have an allen shaped hole so careful with the molegrips to avoid the threads

Can get them from Vauxhall but think it was about £8 when I enquired?!

is it worth having a front mounted on with a let?

Yes^ just cause the turbo gets the oil much hotter.
