Nice motors, were the rear bushes done recently?
A ballache to replace as we found out with the wifes old 206 GTI, we ended up sourcing a second hand rear beam because of the price. Disk beams and drum beams are different :(

No they havnt been done.. I've been told from GTI forums they are a common thing to go on these especially if they have been lowered and thrashed about a bit! I have had a good look underneath thou and everything seems spot on:)
And for the tidy price of £2600 I can't complain even if they had gone lol
Mind you I did have to look at several of these before buying! They seem to be hard to find in good nik! But this one is in really good condition so I'm happy:)

Insurance isn't to bad for me. £60 less than what I was paying on the nova!!lol Not to great on fuel thou it's gotta be said. I'm averaging 30mpg eek lol

I had a black one of these, people really underestimate how quick they actually are. Mine had a decent exhaust, cams and a map and was Dynod at 195bhp :).

Downsides IMO are without the traction control on they wheelspin constantly (trying to go up hills in second easily breaks into a spin) and they have constant electrical problems (which is why I got rid of mine in the end).

Nonetheless, nice buy! :)

Sory dude but they're an awful awful awful car!

Not very fast for 180bhp, handle like pigs, ride is flabby but at the same time too harsh (which I still can't figure out how they managed lol), electrics are crap, errrmmm what else lol

very nice cars they are i was going to get on but found a clio 172 instead

The rear beam is different on the 180 to the old gti(138bhp) they used the rear beam from the 206 sw estate on the gti 180

Are these the ones you need an adapter to balance the wheels because of no wheel centre?
