Anyone know how difficult it would be to fit a rover V8 into a nova. The engine would sit in the back making it rear wheel drive as well. The engines themshelves are quite cheap it would just be all the work needed to fit it in.

i know a rear engined nova has been done before so it is possible don't know what you'd need to do it though spose you'd have to mount in line with the back wheels or have a very small prop

i think putting it the back is going to be easier as i would have to make the front end slightly longer

think in redline /revs this month there is a rear engined 106 with an rs turbo engine in the back have a look at that see what they did for the rear engine conversion

I havent seen the 106 in 'revs' as i think its a shite magazine, but the gearbox on a rs turbo means the engine would probably be mounted parallel to the rear axle if you get my meaning. the rover v8 would probably go in completely differently as fitting a different gearbox could be costly, so a 106 with a ford engine probably wouldnt help much. theres a rear engine rwd nova in the features somewhere, that'd probably be more help but again i think its mounted in the same way.

get yourself to an autograss meeting and ask around. its quite common to stick rover v8 lumps in hatches. theres a yellow metro with one in near me and its hilariously fast.

Trust me I'd love to see it done, and hear it, but there are lots of things to think about.

What were you thinking in the way of..... Fuel Tank, Gear, Clutch and Brake Linkages, Air Intake/Cooling, Mounting, Fire Protection, Prop shaft/rear axle?

Also if you take it out of a Landy I will not be happy!
