so no massive performance benefit then lol. i was thinking the 10 - 12 bhp quoted was very impressive for way less than 100quidlol

there ment to give a bit more induction noise aswell dont think anyone has really proven gains when putting on a powercap ive read that people feel flat spots and less torque with them on.

not slating them by the way as ive got one going on my car just for the space lol

i think ill be investing, im not really bothered about power gains, a bit more induction noise would be nice lol.

i just think the engine bay looks a bit less packed with one on.

this is interesting. thanks for the heads up. what causes this??

im sure some one tested one, and it lost bhp lol

My old XE came with one on, dunno how it would have compared to an SFi box in terms of power (as said, probably lost power lol) but there was certainly no flat spots. T'was an mtech one iirc.

I gained a little torque with the powercap removed, bhp remained the same. The idea if the sfi box was to store air for when required in large throttle blips iirc. The majority of nova owners just use them to save space.

beginning to think i should save my money. lol.

My old xe was fitted with an Ecotech pipe, then replaced for the powercap and my 1/4miles times and speed dropped, lost about 4mph and .500s

I have a powercap, but only because my engine came with it!! I have yet to drive it "properly" so cant comment on driveability.

When we put one on Sean (srs1) car, I felt it was better, gave more of a kick top end, maybe lost a tiny bit of lower to mid range, but top end seemed better.

Also alot noisier on the induction.

was this with the addition of the powercap or the ecotec pipe??

the guy who did the remap on my XE said he tested them on a rolling road, and there is a small gain.

it gives a little more power in the high rpm's, but you lose a little in the low rpm.

but it looks way better.

some interesting comments here, seems like so for and whats some against.

What sort of results have people had with the usage of the ecotec pipe and adaptor??

any power gains here??
