called at mums on the way home and she gave me a load of guest type ales, so i find my self now sitting here drinking ale rather than lager or cider and tbf im enjoying it is this the first sign of old age lol
no, just the first sign of actually having tasted something nice instead of windfall french apples & dead wasps, or some fizzy piss
ps. i discovered real ales when i was 14 and got a job at the local pub/restaurant as a washer upperer, and was allowed 1/2 pint of beer a shift...

As long as there's alcohol in the drink I ain't bothered lol
^ wet and alcoholic is all good, but there's a time when you want a nice drink!
Lager is ok if it's the stronger european stuff but you can't beat a good ale, it's not for caning it on though. Great for a relaxing evening.
Now I sound old lol

/\ agreed! can't beat a few ales and a chilled night! :)
Well, i started on the fine ales tonight and have now moved on to the red wine...after that it will be the brandy.
It's all good.

Nowt wrong with a proper drink...Sam Smiths old brewery bitter is spot on
the pub i worked in when aged 14 had that on draught. but they had 12 proper beers on regular + 2 or 3 guest ones at any time.. they were camras top pub for a lot of years... it changed hands a long time ago & soon went downhill..
real ales are great.
A pub in town once had a brewery round who were dishing out free half pint samples, like 12 different ones, some really nice ones and i went home totally leathered aswell lol lol
Oh and Spingo ftw!!!!!!
/\ i've yet to try it...i've tried most other things.
