advice please

Been offered a set of twin 40s, with 1.3 blydenstein big valve head, and Kent ast 2 cam. This is a full setup that was used on a friends rally car before he wrecked it and started using a corsa 16v. Would it be safe to use this setup on a 1600 block? (I know theres been a lot of this type of question around lately so please no use search answers as I can't find anything relating to this setup). Could I just disconnect my in tank electric fuel pump and use the mechanical pump supplied with the above setup or would I have to swap to a carb tank.

It will fit but the compression ratio would be too high IIRC, you would need to do something to lower the compression. I did think about doing that when i built my 1600 on 40s but i just went for a 16se head and made the ports a wee bit bigger to match a 1300 weber manifold lol

I thought that on the compression ratio and was thinking maybe using 2 head gaskets would lower it enough?
