If I look down the side of the engine it looks like the alternator belt pulley is wobbling around

I have read this is a common problem when the rubber perishes, does this affect most of the pullies then? Just wondering if it's worth getting a replacement or just going for a machined one (TX Autosport)

One I have at the moment is a single V, machined from a multi one.

yeah its a common problem as i found out when i timed mine up to the pulley mark and not the mark behind it DOH!

Just get a alloy one and be done with it, might have one somewhere in the garage off a old engine i stripped. will let you know pal

How much does it wobble?

Id just ignore it until it became a problem tbh lol

A fair amount, put a screwdriver against it and it bags back and forth

Also, I like buying shiny things lol

If youve got the money they get an alloy one, personally id ignore it lol

I keep reading about the standard one being a harmonic balancer for the crankshaft, wonder if it's a good idea replacing it with a standard one.
