Ok so today hasent gone so well rebuilt the e16se with the new head and she fired up fine. However smoke is belowing out of the crankcase breather im talking a shed load, oil is also spitting out :confused: alll i can think is the rings may have gone. ideas ?? my engine also has a baffle plate dont no if this makes any difference to the oil flow.:mad:

Can you do a quick compression test on the head and see if there is any major indifferences between the pistons.
The baffle plate won't make any difference to the oil flow around the engine.

Not untill Monday my local garage is shut. has any one else had these problems?

check the rings by doing a dry then a wet compression test,get a compression tester from halfords etc (not very expensive) then compression test each cylinder one by one,do 2 tests on each cylinder,one dry,and record the pressure,then drop a tiny bit of oil down the spark plug hole and redo the test,if it increases its a good sign of worn rings etc..

possibly head gasket between 3 and 4 then.

I wish the gasket is new+ stem seals lol s**t hapens.

Gutted for you matey, i had exactly the same thing happen to my old astra.
You'll need yet another new headgasket unless you run the risk with your new now old one lol, but its not really worth it.
