Its an SPi tank by the sounds of it.

I’ve got this same problem and been trying to find out. I have a gsi tank a 1litre and a few 1.2's and have forgotten which ones which.

As far as I know the one litre doesn’t have a return, so that rules that out.

The gsi or sri has a swirl pot but you can’t tell from the outside, I think it has a bolted sender on the side? Not sure if they came with a clip on? It has an external pump.

The Spi has an internal pump and you can tell this from the access to it at the top. which rules that out. which is what you must have.

I think the 1.2s have a clip on sender, but I’m not sure whether they came with a bolt on as well.

So basically you cant tell between a 1.2 and a gsi/sri because you cant see the swirl pot. Unless somebody knows if the senders are different. or a differant way to tell.

I saved these a while back, they might of some use.

Easy, the 1.2/3 carb tanks have two outlets to the front of the car. The gte/gsi tank has one towards the front, and one at the rear (part of the sender)

Iirc the Sri ran a external pump the same as a gte/gsi so it will have bolt holes at the rear and the return on the front as John says,

as above but you might have to cut a hole under the rear seat to fit the pump. Mine is an SRi so has the external pump and the floor is not pre-cut.

Since he has the tanks out already I doubt it will be a problem lol

Worth pointing out though, be a right pain to crack on bolt it up and then find no-where to put the pump lol
