fitting sills

well since the guy thats fitting my sills has broke his hand im stuck as everyone else wants silly money

i can weld so how easy would it be to fit sills?

any guides or some info would be great

the bottom of my sills are the worst as its had a few patches on the sill side and a couple on the floor side

the bit that would worry me is cutting the old one out the right size for the new one

i cut the old ones off, offer up the repair panel and use self tapping screws to hold it in place and draw a line were it meets the car and then leave a wee bit and cut below the line. Then weld new one in place. Ill pm pics later if you want?

i take it on the lower part of the sill i just clean it all back till- i see- the spot welds then drill them out?

same with the part inside the door

u fitting full sills or sill skins? I was fitting skins at the time and just used a grinder to cut them off. On my phone atm so when am home ill pm you pics of how i cut my ones off.

i take it you didnt cut right up to the lip inside the door?

to tops of my sills are fine its just the underneath

so am i right in sayng the lower part of the sill that runs under the car has to be a complete weld right along and the top part at the door can be plug welded?
