Fitted my new backbox today, seems to have a very bad blow where it clamps to the centre section, clamp is nice and tight and smeared exhaust sealer round the join, was fine for a mile or so then mustve blown it out, what else can i use thats more durable to seal the gap?

Dont really want to weld it on John, it still needs abit of fettling too, seems to sometimes nock on the centre section, must be pushing it over slightly

Is this legal though? MOT passable? can see something like the foil tape curing the problem you see :d

Halfords sell it for fixing exhausts so it must be legal but don't buy it from there lol

I used some silicone based Loctite sealer for fitting my exhaust.

Make sure that the clamped section isn't 'bottoming out' before it's tight on the centre section, just cos the clamp is tight doesn't mean it's gripping well

My car passed the MOT with a coke can on the exhaust.

Tiger seal.

Lmao, that would stink when it gets hot.

Get some gun gum, I've used it loads over the years, it's better than exhaust paste because it doesn't crack and fall out.
