Digi dash rev counter help

Hi fitted dig dash in my 2.0 8v converted nova and wen I start car the rev gauge works fine but as soon as I rev over 3k the rev counter stops working? Any help appreciated

When you first turn it on and it runs the test does the rev counter go right up to max.

Are you defo connected to the rev counter wire and it's making a good connection.

Yeh mate it works fine until 3k then goes altogether but I reckon alternator is on its way cause u have to rev the engine too 3 grand to get the battery up to 15
