cant see the linkages being the same or are they?

thier actualy easy enough to make

Benn

Yeah, same as the f20 one. You just turn the plastic D around. The f28 you mod the gear box arm bit.

How much where the bits tho?

i got my rosejoints and mis-aligned washers from mcgill motorsport since i heard good things about them

altogether about £20 i have about 40 lengths of threaded bar so i didnt have to buy any of that

haha sure does

one of the plastic bush things on mine that go onto the knuckles were worn so had to wrap it in electrical tape as it kept popping off

sorted now though

i will say they are very useful, if you go through their website they are cheaper then their ebay shop.

and again via email the girl was very helpful and even sent me a paypal invoice with excatly what i needed.

I got mine from McGill too, a set of 4 rose joints with all the misalignment spacers came to nearly £30 alone before you even add the bolts and nuts...

i made the mistake on orderering a set of 5 LH thread lock nuts, when i only needed one.

after emailing, the lady said she would just sell me one...

mine were just the basic rosejoints though and i cant see any play in them

for a road car i cant see it needing super duper rosejoints

Would making one of these be beneficial for the 4 speed in my 1.2 merit? as the Gearstick can literally move like 3 inches side to side whilst in gear...

Yes it would. Get nylon pivot bushes from LMF too or it leaves play in the worn out middle bit.

I'm sure my rosejoints and misalignment spacers were nearer £30 odd than £20.

Be worth cutting down those long bolts to make sure it doesn't hit anything, and making sure plenty of the bolt is through the nylock nut cos I had serious issues of it coming loose with non-nylock nuts.

yeah those pics were took just after i put it all together

im gonna trim the bolts down and screw the rj in a bit more as well

Can i have a shopping list of what i will need to make 1 of these.

swedge

this is what i used

2x m10 male rose joints
4x missaligned m10 washers
2x m8 female rosejoints
4x m8 missaligned washers
2x m10 60mm bolts
2x m860mm bolts

length of m8 threaded rod or you can put a thread on your existing bar i couldnt as mine was plastic

you will also need m10 and m8 nuts to go with the bolts, i used nylock nuts on mine so didnt need as many just grab a few of each you should be able to get them from any hardware store anyway

theres a guide in the articles section

I've got my rose jointed but in a different way to that.
The way you have positioned the joints with the pressure being put onto the center will be pushing the middle of the joint outwards. Not how the rose joint is designed to work.
It's hard to explain but my rosejoints are threaded into the input and are pushing on a threaded bar from the linkage itself. So the pressure will be pushing the middle into the joint not out of it. Then the movement in the joint left and right allows for the slight twisting to select gears.
Will try and snap a pic tomorrow its a lot easier to work put looking at it tbh.
