1.6 EFI GSi/GTE engine? Thought 16SV was carb.

I thought 16sv was a cav carb engine and e16se/c16se were injection. Unless its a 16sv bottom end with injection setup as iirc the bottom ends are the same on 16sv and e16se.

am as confused as anyone its not a carb thats a fact its got an ecu and injectors... one question is. Is that it has the place (Hole) for the mechanical fuel pump.. ie the one that bolts to the engine.. confusing much

so its a sv converted to se then well any how simple you have to run the thin black to and ignition live thick red to perm live and thick red/blue to fuel pump this should start your engine :)

Hmmm but it has the mechanical fuel pump? the one that bolts the the cam shaft? this engine confuses me. what needs to go there where the hole for a fuel pump is? thanks rob

If It's a carb bottom end with an injection top end you'll need an injection cam carrier as it doesn't have the hole for the mechanical pump. Once that's swapped there will be one or two earths that bolt there.

Make sure some idiot hasn't bolted a 16SE inlet manifold on to a 16SV carb engine as the head port shapes are different.

This sounds like what's happened but on the plus side I have a e16se head and cam in carrier for sale lol. Or you could blank the hole off with a bit of plate and run it as it is but it'll run like poo.

This shows just how badly it fits lol

TBF it didn't run badly and felt 'OK' which is surprising

Yeah take the inlet off and see if the ports on the head match the ports on the inlet

Wouldn't have thought so would of thought the exhaust setup will be off the carb engine
