info on panels

hi there
just newbie to the fourm

my dad has just bought me my first nova (a white 1.6 gte) off of another member on hear called gte999 (graig)

its needing a little bit of work to get it road worthy as it will be my first car when i am 17 ,i am only 15 the now so we've got a few years lol luckly my dad owns a garage so i can do all the work down there:)

it is needing a few panels such as a battery tray,sill,2 wing's,front panel etc
so i was wondering where the best place to get panels form was ?

i will get pics of the car tomorrow

Hi and welcome to the forum :) you will need to make 15 posts before you can upload pictures mate but I'm sure someone will upload them for you if you ask nicely...

text typing is a no-no on here pal :thumb: take 5 minutes to read the forum rules and you should get on just fine.

And make sure you ARE the second driver...

also remember this most important fact.... apart from the interior trim & bodykit, very few parts are unique to a gte, and 99% of the metalwork is the same on all mk1 3dr hatches. so when you ring a scrapper don't ask for gte panels, or they will charge you more.

Battery tray, Sills and wings will be the same as any other nova.

Just make sure you get MK1 wings and not MK2.

Though im not sure you can buy a new battery tray panel, youd have to patch it up, but i may be wrong.

Good luck insuring a GTE at 17 though, I'm 19 and my mk1 1.2 merit is £2k+ a year :P

As stated above, Panels are fairly easily available. I got 2 new MK1 wings and 2 front valances for a MK1 for the grand sum of £50 :)
