yes a comma lol..
i spot one red nova saloon middish of the pic; back-to-us..
Mostly fords :-s
i cant tell what the white car is again parked backwards; in front of the blue sierra where theres a couple of parking bays empty.. - middle/right of the pic. Old peugeot 304/5 or summat..?

Have to say a nice warming range of colours there in the old school days; yellows reds n blues.. nowadays it'd be just black, silver and white lol

Balley

I think only one of those is a nova, the rest are a couple of talbot sunbeam/sunrise's, the white four door loon is an orion, the silver one near the back is an escort, i think there is only the red two door loon.

And the white one discussed on the las page is indeed a Datsun Sunny, 120Y, my dad had one and funnily enough we were just talking about it about five mins ago lol

Are all wrong except the Red saloon, all the others are ford escort/orions, except the red car on the back row, which I think is a opel rekford / carlton;)

Royston

The lastest registration I can see is the B reg Fiesta mk2 so guessing @ '84, nova's were available but weren't that many about became more popular after then.

There is a MB camper there too, I have one currently in my back garden:roll:

Only the red one in the original pic, the white one is an Onion. The 4dr wasn't released until May '85, so I reckon its a good bet thats not a Nova.

Second pic.... no idea, its tiny lol

[edit] I did spot a few dolomites in both pics though lol

[edit again] White 2dr in second pic

[edit thrice lol] Having said that about 4drs not being around, the second pic does have a the back end of a brown car in the bottom left that looks possibly a little nova-ish?

Compare those pics to a random pick of a modern car park...

http://img3.photographersdirect.com/img/13725/wm/pd1970858.jpg

And I deffo prefer the 1st pic..

There's more nova's in my garage than these photo's lol (4 in the main shed, and two elsewhere)

Great to see though...old photos, I like the ones in practical classics showing town centre 30/40 years ago;)

I was too busy drooling over all the 80s tin to count...back in the day when people actually bought cars in colours rather than sodding silver.

pic one, i'd say the red saloon in the foreground is a vw derby... but i'd put money on the beige one on the top right near the cf camper being a nova.. i can't think of any other mfr using parchment beige.

Royston

2, the red one at the back, then there is a beige looking 2 door loon (looks like a Opel Corsa A from the front badge)

Jack
01-03-11, 11:23 PM
The beige one at the back, I still reckon thats a Ford. Just looks too much like the one with the door open, badge looks oval, indicators look a touch large.

The red one is deffo a saloon though. Next to it, whats that blue thing with the mashed back end? Looks almost like an old celica the way the rear lights and bumper are, but there's no passenger door mirror

I was looking at the one in the second row to the left of the Mk 2 Escort estate, but i now know it's not a Nova.
