kit car insurance

a mate of mine said that my nova could be classed as a kit car because of the amount of mods its got on it. he reckons it could be cheaper to insure it as a kit car? can anybody shed any light on this?

Sorry looking at old threads but the bloke I got my nova from insured it as a kitcar because it had a different engine from standard and only two seats but was all on the logbook
