Colour isnt the best, but it goes well and has enough torque to forget that you are towing anything! lol

She came with a brand new gearbox and 99k - which is nothing for a T5

Its nice to drive 100+ miles and not even notice - whereas in the nova/combo, you wanted to drive off a cliff to be spared the lack of comfort! ;)

Solid motors, guy at works got one he's selling, but red.
Good engines and spec.
But i dont think i could do with driving a Volvo at 24years old, not yet anyway lol

Cheeky fecker - I am not that much older than you! lol

Seeing as it was a £28,000 car when new (dual climate control, heated leather etc) the money I paid makes up for the fact its a bit grandad! ;)

I see it as a genuine classic (well it will be) as its what gave the police in the 90s something to actually enjoy driving.

lol lol

Yeah, the guy at my works is decent spec, heated everything. Pretty quick, and being a volvo you could smash through a wall and know nothing about it.

But when i was about 12 and my dad had a volvo 340GL, i always said "i'll never own a volvo" lol
And now i secretly want one lol lol

I reckon that's from witnessing a mind blowing demonstration of drifting control around Stoke roundabouts by someone in a 940 Turbo.

I actually like the colour, what's the fuel economy like though? Must be a expensive monkey.

If I'm being honest, I have a soft spot for a T5 saloon in the pale yellow colour :)

Nice tow car, IMO you can't beat an auto tow-mobile, they make it effortless..

Ideal for a comfy cruiser/load lugger Will.

I'm not a Volvo guy, despite currently having the 360 Turbo, but I have always liked the T5's and R's. It's amazing how cheap you can get them now.

Whoever said pale yellow R has just described the one I would go for. Grey leather and matching rims FTW.

I thought it was a 340, whats the difference? lol

Speaking of which someone pulled out of campus in a fire breathing one (340 or 360, look same to me!) sounded like it was probably the popular clio conversion but maybe running carbs or something as it liked popping on the overrun a tad, there's a motorway bridge on the road outside campus (its like they plan this stuff, seriously!) it sounded pretty tasty going under, specially since he floored it and it spat a bit sideways :d

Will have been a common as muck, slowass 340 with a 16V Renault lump probs. lol

He's probs on the forum. 340's and 60's do look the same. It's the oily bits where they are different - and in the latter case, much stronger. :d

I would like one of these slowass common as muck pieces of crap as it looked rather cool :)

Eating due to crazy power = cool.

Eating due to poor design and general fatigue = 340. lol

No comment on your weasel Nova's issues. Could be the driver. :P

To be fair nomming the engine was my fault, should have checked plugs I took out for a part no to replace rather than relying on registration through factors. The wheel bearings, CV joints, alternator, electric windows, glow plug relay, charge relay, coolant hoses (many plural!) etc etc not so much though lol

Although CV joints could well be driver! I've broken at least one on every car I've ever owned including the peugeot that I only had from nov to february ish lol

Ah I am suprised how lightly I got off!lol

Fuel consumption on a run isnt bad at all - 28-31 mpg on the computer...

around town though, its hard to get it into double figures - so as long as I get towed onto the motorway and do a rolling start all will be fine! lol

I have towed the trailer once and I literally forgot it was on there! Although it was unlaiden! ;)

Good choice IMO.

I found myself watching all manner of Youtube T5 lunacy a while ago & wanted one for a bit.

Needs the ABS fixing before it tows anything really - common for the ABS ECU joints drying out it seems...

Driven neaarly 900 miles so far - so far, so good

My mate repaired this on his 850 T5. It was a good few years ago when he had it, but he says there was no info around at the time, and one guy on the forum offering the service but wanted a fortune. This still the case?

If so, I can speak to him and find out the craic if needed.

Youtube has some decent stuff. 'That' black saloon is the one for me. lol

if its simply dry joints, going over the board with a soldering iron will see it right :)

Very true. I'm sure my mate made a big deal of it. Think he had to Dremmel his way into the case or some sh!t. lol
