In my Nova I have a digi dash, the fuel gauge on it doesn't work however. Its in a fiberglass mould thing and not very easy to replace.

So, my idea is to get some old Nova clocks and use the fuel gauge from that and mount it somewhere.

Will this work? What about the wiring?

Also, is there companies that make fuel gauges that will work with the oem sender?

Yep you can buy aftermarket ones, which would imo look better than a standard nova one thats been butchered up >CLICKY< (http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorsport/Gauges_Instrumentation/Gauges_-_Auxiliary/CAI_International_Fuel_Level_Gauge/1771/1959/18954) (not saying this one, but its just for an example)
Im guessing you will just have to wire up a ground, live after ignition and then the wires from the the fuel gauge sender

t is recommended that a C.A.I sender unit is used as an incorrect or no reading could occur if used with other senders

Knowing my luck it probably wouldn't work with the nova sender lol

Bear in mind nova senders are a simple 2 wire job, and more modern senders are sometimes a combination of 4 sensors, digital etc etc

Thats why I wanted to use Nova clocks gauge tbh

Is it as simple as opening up the clocks, take the gauge out and wire it up?

Well I meant, chances are it works fine, and they're covering themselves on more modern, complicated fuel senders.

Basically, you don't need a posh 4 sensor exact as you like accounts for sploshing round the tank sender for motorsport, so a bog simple gauge works fine. Whereas a flash new audi the posh as you like owner is very unimpressed when it claims he has 50.5 litres left when it is in fact 50.2

One more question, does it make a difference what Nova clocks I get?

Car has a GSI loom iirc

Cheers

Do you know if either of these clocks are from a mk2?
