View Full Version : Plastic floor grommets
Want new ones of these, according to this thread (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=159337) the choices are 8, 20, 20.5, 21 and 43mm but I have measured my floorpan are there are 34mm holes?
Had a browse for general plastic/rubber 34mm grommets and couldn't find anything suitable
i also need a set
are the holes not all the same size?
i dont mean to sound stupid.... but what are they?

Weld up the holes, no grommets required, simples;)
Conad they're the plastic bungs in the floorpan
Tom they're useful for draining it out when it leaks lol
i still havnt sorted mine out yet, (as thats my thread in the link) , let me know how you get on with getting hold of them and price.:thumb:

Does anyone actually have carpet in a Nova nowadays lol
Everyone knows to sweep stuff down them and to pop them out to drain water leaks out lol!
plus if you lock your key in the car....jack it up, pop them into the car, bit of wire to hook the keys off the seat.
saves on a new window job or what not
Surely it's the 46mm you want on the parts pic I posted?
If the hole measures 34mm, don't forget the plug has a lip on it, which probably equates to just over 10mm from memory.
I measured up the overall size and I'm sure it came to over 50mm

I bought new floor grommets from the local dealer, mind that was @ 3 years ago
Got the part number on the receipt?
Can you not just replace them with big rubber grommets?
Try finding 34mm rubber grommets for a reasonable price, cos I'm struggling
There still avaliable brand new for pittance.
I replaced mine with carbon using tigerseal to seal them in. Saved a massive 1kg compared to the underseal splattered crud covered originals :S

Ok not 34mm, but close enough to make fit!
Yeah OK fair enough 32mm ones may go in well.
I've just pulled 15 odd from my old shell so gonna paint strip and fit those for now!
Just been and measured one of the boot floor bungs. Overall the outer size was approx 50mm with the lip approx 36mm.
Checked again on EPC and there is nothing else listed. The 46mm has to be the right one.
Check EPC for Corsa B/Tigra ones, there exactly the same.
Aha, not sure why I never checked before!
34mm underbody - Part 90120285
34mm wheel well (the one with the hole) - Part 90120285
Going to have to remember to check the corsa section, they seem to have dropped some parts from the nova section.
Thanks for that Phazer, wonder why nobody else could find them incl by Vauxhall parts guy. Will see how much they are...
how many in total is there in a nova?
4 in wheel well iirc...handy tip tie some string around your spare key. poke string through the hole...if you ever loose your key just pull the other one through :)
Which grommet has your spare key on then?
Think there's 20-25 on the whole floorpan?

I paint strippered them and they survived lol But I fancy new ones anyway, just to treat myself.

Go to an electrical wholesalers, my local one has them in all sizes in packs of 50 for £8, but why bother with them, just weld plates and seal them up, if you have a leak, buy a shotgun, thats much more of a fun way to drain it off :-)
You've been watching too much Top Gear windfreek lol
Prey but they're GENUINE GM FLOOR GROMMETS they have to be worth that price surely! lol Nah I'll stay with my old ones for that price

Theres no such thing as too much Top Gear, besides often enough, the simplest ideas are always the best, but knowing my luck id take out the fuel lines at the same time lol
